It all started when I saw a construction site and simply thought, “This is cool.” That impression led me to explore the industry further. As I researched companies of various sizes—from major general contractors to smaller firms like ours—I came across Mugishima General Construction. I was drawn to the fact that they explicitly welcomed applicants with non-technical backgrounds.

Since I studied commerce in university, I was especially impressed that Mugishima didn't limit applicants to those with architecture or engineering degrees. The opportunity to take on a challenge from scratch, even without prior experience, really appealed to me.

One of the most rewarding moments was the night we completed a condominium project I had managed. As I placed the remote controls and instruction manuals in each unit and locked the doors for the final time, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief and accomplishment. All the struggles and hard work flashed through my mind like a movie.

Now, whenever I pass by that building, I proudly tell my family and friends, “I helped build that!”
Seeing tangible proof of your work that will remain for years—that’s the best part of this job.

At Mugishima General Construction, even young employees are trusted with real responsibilities from an early stage. Senior colleagues are always willing to say, “Give it a try,” and let you take on new challenges. Even if you fail, they’re right there to back you up. That sense of support gives you the confidence to step out of your comfort zone.

Because of that, I think we grow and learn much faster here than in many other places.
Going forward, I hope to keep building my experience—and one day, I’d love to construct the biggest building in the company’s history with my own hands.
